Steelers Disrespected by 2023 Super Bowl Odds

Updated:

The Pittsburgh Steelers went out fighting in what was quarterback Ben Roethlisberger's final season. It may have come down to a Week 18 win, but Pittsburgh made the NFL Playoffs despite a shaky regular season. They continue to be disrespected in terms of their Super Bowl 2023 odds, though.

Steelers Super Bowl Odds

The Steelers have odds set at +7000 to hoist the Lombardi Trophy next season, according to FanDuel Sportsbook. That ranks them above just six other NFL squads and places them fourth in the AFC North. It's surprising to see Pittsburgh trail a number of teams that finished below .500 in 2021.

The Steelers obviously have a huge need at the quarterback position. However, It's not unrealistic to think they will either sign a big name in free agency or make a blockbuster trade for a star. Pittsburgh is projected to have over $32 million in available cap space and can use that to their advantage.

Head coach Mike Tomlin's team has always been bolstered by a strong defense and having the 2021 Defensive Player of the Year on the team is certainly going to help. Linebacker TJ Watt tied an NFL record with 22.5 sacks and also forced 5 fumbles while being named to the All-Pro first team.

There is talent all over this roster with the likes of running back Najee Harris and defensive lineman Cameron Hayward flying under the radar. All things considered, the Steelers haven't finished with a losing record since 2003 and have made the playoffs in each of the last two seasons. There's little reason to believe everything will go wrong in 2022.
