Steelers vs Bengals Opening Odds For NFL Week 1 Show Clear Favorite on FanDuel Sportsbook

Excitement for the upcoming football season grew this week when the NFL revealed each of the 32 teams' full 2022 schedule on Thursday night. Oddsmakers didn't waste time when it came to pouncing on the finalized schedule, with FanDuel Sportsbook already releasing its Week 1 odds.

One of the more anticipated Week 1 tilts is an AFC North battle between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Cincinnati Bengals. Judging by the latest odds, FanDuel Sportsbook is listing the Bengals as the clear-cut favorite.

FanDuel Sportsbook is listing the Bengals as the 6-point home favorites in Week 1 with -110 odds to cover. The Steelers are also -110 to cover as the 6-point underdogs. Furthermore, Cincinnati is the -240 moneyline favorite while Pittsburgh sits at +198.

The odds shouldn't be too surprising. The Bengals are an exciting young team fresh off of a Super Bowl appearance. Their offense is absolutely dynamic and likely hasn't reached its potential with the likes of Joe Burrow, Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins having much more room to grow.

On the other hand, the Steelers are trying to figure out their identity now that Ben Roethlisberger has retired. Pittsburgh has several talented pieces, but how its quarterback situation unfolds will be indicative of any potential success.

The Bengals have also had the Steelers' number lately, winning each of the last three games between the two rivals by double-digits and an average score of 30.7-12.3.

Both teams are expected to have opposite experiences in 2022. FanDuel Sportsbook is projecting the Bengals to be one of the better teams by giving them +2200 (T-No. 12) Super Bowl LVII odds, whereas the Steelers are listed at an unfavorable +8000 (T-No. 23).
