Stars vs Wild Betting Trends

  • Dallas is 2-5 straight up in its last seven road games against Minnesota.
  • Minnesota is 10-4 straight up in its last 14 home games.
  • The total has hit the over in each of Dallas' last five road games.
  • The total has hit the over in nine of Minnesota's last 13 games against the Central Division.

Stars vs Wild Prediction & Pick

The Stars have an uphill battle ahead of them if they want to even this series. The Wild have been phenomenal at Xcel Energy Center this year, winning 26 of their last 42 home games. They've also had recent success against Dallas on their home ice, winning five of the last seven battles between these teams in St. Paul.

Trusting the Stars is even more difficult after Jake Oettinger allowed 4 goals on 24 shots in Game 3. The 24-year-old netminder now owns a .891 save percentage in his last 10 road games, finishing with a sub-.900 SV% five times. That level of play isn't good enough to beat Minnesota team that boasts offensive threats like Zuccarello, Hartman, Kirill Kaprizov and more.

The odds imply this game could almost go either way and I agree, but I'm riding the hot hand by siding with the Wild.

Final Score Prediction: Wild: 3 | Stars: 2

Stars vs Wild Best Bet

Although the winning team has produced 5+ goals in the last two games, I expect Game 4 to be quieter. Wild goaltender Filip Gustavsson has been phenomenal for the most part, meaning Oettinger must step up to help his team win. The Stars goalie has struggled on the road lately, but that poor play can't last forever.

With the under also being 23-17-2 at Xcel Energy Center this season and 4-2 in the last six Stars-Wild tilts, siding with fewer goals than expected is the correct call.

Bet: Under 5.5 Goals (-115)
