Stars vs Kraken Prediction, Odds & Best Bet for NHL Playoffs Game 6 (Can Dallas' Star Players Put Away Seattle?)

Updated:

The 2022-23 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs continue on Saturday, May 13 as the Seattle Kraken and Dallas Stars are set to play Game 6 of their second-round series.

The Stars hardly broke a sweat against the Kraken for the second consecutive game, taking Game 5 with a 5-2 final score. Dallas got production from some of its top players as Roope Hintz scored twice while Jason Robertson finished with a trio of assists. Jake Oettinger was a brick wall once again between the pipes, making 29 saves on 31 shots.

Stars vs Kraken Betting Trends

  • Dallas is 6-3 straight up (SU) in its last nine games against Seattle.
  • Seattle is 2-4 SU in its last six home games.
  • The total has hit the over in seven of Dallas' last nine road games.
  • The total has hit the over in each of Seattle's last eight games against Dallas.

Stars vs Kraken Prediction & Pick

Momentum is fully in the Stars' favor now that they've won three of the last four matchups in this series. Following the Game 3 blowout loss, Dallas has since outscored Seattle 11-5 over the last two games. Needless to say, things aren't looking good for the Kraken even if they have the home-ice advantage Saturday night.

The Stars just have too many offensive weapons — Hintz, Robertson, Tyler Seguin, Jamie Benn, etc. — for the Kraken to handle. It doesn't help that goaltender Philipp Grubauer has finished with a save percentage of .800 or worse in each of the last two contests. While Dallas' Oettinger hasn't been perfect this series, he's coming off a .935 SV% in Game 4.

The Kraken are also only 2-3 SU at Climate Pledge Arena in the playoffs, so it isn't like home ice will give them a huge boost. Besides, the Stars are 28-18 SU on the road this season and have won three of their previous four visits to Seattle.

With a chance to advance to the Western Conference Finals with a victory, look for the Stars to put away the inexperienced Kraken.

Final Score Prediction: Stars: 5 | Kraken: 3

Stars vs Kraken Best Bet

Riding the hot hand, I like the idea of the Stars covering the 1.5-goal spread as the best bet. All three of their victories in this series have come by a multi-goal margin, beating the Kraken by exactly three goals in both of the last two matchups. That's a result of how poor Seattle's goaltending has been.

The Kraken just don't have the offensive skill to keep up with the talent-rich Stars. As long as Oettinger plays well and the offense doesn't dry up, Dallas won't have a problem beating Seattle by at least two goals.

Bet: Stars -1.5 (+160)
