Spencer Anderson Scouting Report

Spencer Anderson was available whenever Maryland called upon him, playing a whopping 927 offensive snaps. He only surrendered two sacks and a pair of quarterback hits, however, his 11 hurries allowed were the most of his career. His overall grade of 62.5 on Pro Football Focus was also less than ideal.

Anderson has sturdy feet that help him stand his ground against incoming defenders. While he's decent in pass protection (four sacks allowed since 2020), he thrives as a run blocker, able to create lines at higher levels.

There are drawbacks to Anderson's game, though. He's far from the most athletic offensive lineman in the class. He's not the most gifted pass-protector either. While he's solid at keeping his QB off the ground, he still gave up 29 hurries over the last three seasons.

Spencer Anderson NFL Draft Prediction

There's a decent chance that Spencer Anderson won't hear his name called at the 2023 NFL Draft. Although he's been solid at times for the Terrapins, his play is just too inconsistent. His lack of athleticism and below-average play in pass protection just can't be ignored.

With how prevalent the pass rush is in today's NFL, it's more than likely that Anderson will have to take the undrafted route to the NFL. He'd probably have a better chance of proving himself as a training camp invite than for a team to use a draft pick on him.

Until Anderson fixes the holes in his game, he has a long road ahead of him.
