South Carolina vs Kentucky Prediction & Pick
Kentucky had plenty of chances to beat Ole Miss last week. But QB Will Levi fumbled twice last in the game with one after an overturned touchdown that would have won the contest. Also, Matt Ruffolo missed a makeable 39-yard field goal, had an extra point blocked and watched as his center and holder botched another extra point. Now the Wildcats tackle a South Carolina team that played their best game of the season last week in wiping out FCS South Carolina State 50-10.
The Gamecocks also scored 56 points the week prior against Charlotte. Now they'll shoot for their first SEC win as a TD underdog having lost to No. 1 Georgia 48-7 and Arkansas 44-30. But SC quarterback Spencer Rattler has not been as sharp as expected. The Oklahoma transfer quarterback has just 4 TD passes and 7 INT with 1,120 passing yards. The Gamecocks project to gain less than 275 yards offense, and Kentucky's defense that’s been 1.1 yards per play better than average, allowing just 14.8 points per game and 5.1 yards per play to teams that would combine to average 6.2 yards per play against an average defense. The Wildcats have some injuries at linebacker, but are still a top-tier defense.
Arkansas' strong rushing attack was able to rip off 300 yards rushing on a non-stop 64 carries against South Carolina. Kentucky 1000-yard rusher Chris Rodriguez has returned to the fold after a September suspension. Quarterback Will Levis, whom ESPN draft analysts projected this week to be the No. 1 QB in next year's NFL Draft, is dealing with a dislocated finger in his non-throwing hand and might not play. Check his status, but the backup quarterback would have to be quite bad for Kentucky not to win this game by 7 points or more.
Final Score Prediction: Kentucky: 30 | South Carolina: 20

South Carolina vs Kentucky Best Bet

ESPN's Football Power Index gives Kentucky a 75.9% chance to win based on the big point spread. But the line opened Wildcats -10 Sunday in Las Vegas and has been bet down due to the status of Kentucky QB Will Levi.
Still, Kentucky has won 7 of the last 8 meetings with SC, and covered 8 of the last 9. Also, 6 of the last 7 have gone under the total averaging 37 points per game, including last year's 16-10 Wildcats win. Kentucky's stronger defense should get it done in victory.
Bet: Kentucky -6.5 (-110)
