The 2022-23 NFL playoffs are officially here. This postseason features plenty of thrilling games to kick things off, including a Wild Card battle between the Seattle Seahawks and San Francisco 49ers.

This isn't the first time these NFC West rivals have squared off in the playoffs. Here's everything you need to know about the Seahawks vs. 49ers rivalry in the postseason.

Seahawks vs 49ers Playoff History

These are two of the most storied NFL teams when it comes to postseason play, which makes it surprising that they have only met head-to-head once in the playoffs. That matchup came during the 2013 NFC Championship game in Seattle and ended with a trip to the Super Bowl for the Seahawks.

The 1-seed Seahawks hosted the 5-seed 49ers at Lumen Field and defeated them by a final score of 23-17 on Jan. 19, 2014. Seattle came back from a 10-3 deficit at halftime and a 17-13 deficit at the end of the third quarter thanks to a 35-yard touchdown pass from Russell Wilson to Jermaine Kearse.
