Sam Burns PGA Championship Prediction 2023

It's been an up-and-down 2022-23 PGA Tour for Sam Burns so far. The 26-year-old has failed to live up to expectations at times given he has missed the cut in three times since February, but he has also excelled at times given he has posted seven top-20 finishes to go along with three top-10 finishes.

More 2023 PGA Championship betting content from The Duel:

Burn's inconsistency makes looking at his past PGA Championship outings worthwhile. He has posted two top-30 finishes in three appearances, but has yet to finish under par. The course has made Burns work on a weakness of his as the smaller greens force golfers to nail their chip shots.

It's a weakness that has followed Burns to this campaign as he ranks 168th when it comes to Strokes Gained: Approach the Green. I'll back Burns for a top-40 finish (-120) here considering it's something he has accomplished in five of his last six PGA Tour showings, but I wouldn't go any further than that.
