Rocco Baldelli Had NSFW Message for Twins in Team Meeting After Loss

Updated:

The Minnesota Twins are losing ground in the AL Wild Card standings after their recent skid. Minnesota dropped its fifth straight game on Wednesday, which prompted manager Rocco Baldelli to call a team meeting before things completely unravel.

Baldelli had a simple message for his team, and he threw in an expletive for added effect.

The MLB veteran could tell the pressure of a playoff chase was getting to his team, leading to "tight" play. He responded by telling them to give "zero [expletive]" and not overthink things going forward.

This is likely the exact message the Twins needed to hear. The intensity of second-half baseball and the looming postseason can make or break teams, and Baldelli wants to make sure Minnesota plays the kind of winning baseball this group is more than capable of.

The five-game skid now puts the Twins four games back of the final AL Wild Card spot. Hopefully Baldelli's words provide them a sense of calm as they head into three straight series against other Wild Card contenders in the San Francisco Giants, Boston Red Sox and Chicago White Sox.

FanDuel Sportbook's MLB odds currently see the Twins as underdogs (+210) to make the playoffs.
