Riley Moss Scouting Report
All Moss did at Iowa was make plays. Across five seasons, Moss recorded at least 2 interceptions in four of them and 11 overall. He was great in coverage as well, breaking up 26 passes during his collegiate career. Moss even added 3 pick-sixes for good measure as a member of the Hawkeyes.
Moss' ball-hawking skills are obvious, but his athleticism is no joke, either. The Iowa native is a physical specimen who ran a 4.45-second 40-yard dash and posted an impressive 39-inch broad jump at the combine. He's not afraid to be aggressive at the line of scrimmage, either, and can lead ball-carriers out of bounds without many problems.
The cornerback does have some things to work on, though. He'll need to improve on tracking more complex routes in order to succeed at the next level. There's also the matter of figuring out which position he'll play in the NFL, as his size could be better suited for safety.
Riley Moss NFL Draft Prediction
Moss' knack for getting to the ball along with his physical tools make him the kind of late-round prospect teams like to take chances on. He could turn out to be a nice surprise for whoever calls his name at the podium.
The Los Angeles Rams are one squad in desperate need of talent in the secondary. This CB room was shaken up in a big way this offseason with the trade of Jalen Ramsey, and the remaining members don't generate much excitement. Moss could add a legit ball-hawking threat with the potential to earn a sizable role right away with a strong camp.
LA has plenty of late-round draft capital in its back pocket, which is great ammunition for the team to address its cornerback depth problem.
Prediction: Los Angeles Rams (Round 5, 167th overall)
