Richard Gouraige Scouting Report
After taking a redshirt in 2018, Gouraige became a fixture of Florida's offensive line, suiting up in 49 games from 2019-2022. He was tasked with protecting several future pros, like Kyle Trask and fellow 2023 draft classmate Anthony Richardson.
Gouraige was very consistent, giving up two sacks or fewer in every season since 2019. The Florida native touts a huge frame at 6-foot-5, 306 pounds, which he regularly used to beat defenders. The lineman also has nice mobility at his size, allowing him to get out and block for his teammates.
Gouraige isn't without his flaws, though. He needs to learn to maximize the potential of his size and not get off-balanced while blocking. Quicker edge rushers have also proven a problem for him in pass protection, which he'll have to improve to play at the next level.
Richard Gouraige NFL Draft Prediction
With his frame and experience, Gouraige is in a great position to be drafted. As a likely Day 3 pick, he'll be looked at as a potential reserve option who could develop into something more.
One team that needs more O-line talent is the Baltimore Ravens. Not only was starting guard Ben Powers poached in free agency, but this unit's overall depth is lacking as well, with Patrick Mekari currently the top projected backup at several positions. Gouraige would provide Baltimore with a player who's capable of plugging a hole at tackle or guard, and it's easy to see how his size would help this run-focused attack.
Protecting Lamar Jackson should be a focal point during the draft, so Baltimore should scoop up the Florida stud in the middle of the sixth round.
Prediction: Baltimore Ravens (Round 6, 199 overall)
