Ravens Get Bad News on Mark Andrews and Gus Edwards at Friday's Practice

Updated:

Injuries have been a major struggle for the Baltimore Ravens during the 2022 season. Ahead of their Monday Night Football matchup against the New Orleans Saints, Baltimore again has key players nursing various ailments.

Mark Andrews Injury Update

On Friday, the Ravens got some bad news on tight end Mark Andrews and running back Gus Edwards.

Neither Andrews nor Edwards was able to participate in Friday's practice. That marked the second straight day both players sat, which isn't a very encouraging sign for their Week 9 availability.

Andrews was dealing with a knee injury heading into Week 8, but ultimately suited up. He then picked up a shoulder injury early in that contest, though, which is hampering him ahead of Monday.

Gus Edwards Injury Update

Edwards was also banged up in Week 8. He suffered a hamstring injury in the fourth quarter of that game and was unable to return. Though the issue was described as minor, it appears to be putting his status for this upcoming contest in jeopardy.

The one silver lining for Baltimore is they're on a longer week given the MNF game, so a DNP on Friday isn't as worrisome as it'd normally be. However, both players will likely need to suit up on Saturday in some capacity in order to have a shot at playing against New Orleans.
