Raiders Disrespected by 2023 Super Bowl Odds

Updated:

The Las Vegas Raiders ripped off four straight wins to end the NFL regular season and nearly beat the AFC Champion Cincinnati Bengals during the Wild Card Round. This team proved that they have what it takes to contend, yet they are being disrespected in terms of their Super Bowl 2023 odds.

Raiders Super Bowl Odds

The Raiders have odds set at +5500 to hoist the Lombardi Trophy next season, according to FanDuel Sportsbook. That ranks Las Vegas outside of the top 20 teams and last in the AFC West division. Seeing them behind teams that finished with a below .500 record this past season is simply wrong.

Las Vegas will be a competitor as long as starting quarterback Derek Carr is under center. The eighth-year pro finished fifth in the NFL with a career-high 4,804 passing yards. Keep in mind he accomplished that despite only one Raider posting over 670 receiving yards (Hunter Renfrow).

There's no question that the team needs to improve from the defensive side of the ball, but the foundation is there. Both linebacker Denzel Perryman (154 tackles) and defensive end Maxx Crosby (8.0 sacks) made the Pro Bowl for the first time in their careers. Bringing in new defensive coordinator Patrick Graham could work wonders for the Raiders.

While playing in the NFC West is no easy task, Las Vegas has finished fourth in the division just once over the last six seasons. The Raiders are ready to surprise some people next season. After all, each of the last two Super Bowl Champions played the big game on their home turf and Super Bowl 57 will take place at Allegiant Stadium.
