Raiders Defenders Involved in Trade Rumors Ahead of Deadline

Raiders Defenders Involved in Trade Rumors Ahead of Deadline

Updated:

The Las Vegas Raiders are searching for answers after starting the season an abysmal 1-4. One solution could be to make some moves at the NFL trade deadline in order to better fill out this roster.

It turns out two Raiders players find themselves on the chopping block ahead of November.

ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reports EDGE Clelin Ferrell and safety Jonathan Abram have both been discussed in trades in "recent months." Fowler added Abram's name, in particular, has been "circulating a lot" among opposing teams.

This news isn't that much of a surprise. Las Vegas' new regime has been quick to move on from some players who were brought in by the previous front office, and both of these defenders have clearly lost favor with the current coaching staff.

Ferell was mentioned as a potential roster casualty in the preseason. He's failed to make much of an impression despite sticking around, recording 0 sacks and just 1 solo tackle in 2022.

Abram, meanwhile, has seen his snap percentage fall in favor of fellow safeties Duron Harmon and Tre'Von Moehrig. He's recored just 1 pass defensed this season along with 32 combined tackles.

It'd be no surprise to this hopeful contender make a few deals ahead of the deadline, which is slated for Nov. 1, to make a run in the second half of the year.
