Survivor Leagues or Survivor Pools have become increasingly popular over recent years as the interest in both fantasy football and sports betting has grown exponentially.

2021 Survivor League Board

The concept of a survivor league is simple: survive. A group of people, can be any number you want, will pick any team in the NFL to win that week. Just win, you don't have to worry about covering a spread, and underdogs are very rarely your friend.

The catch is, once you pick that team, you cannot select them again for the rest of the season, which is where the strategy comes in. It would be too easy to just keep selecting the three or four best teams in the league that has the softest matchup that week.

Some people like to save the best teams for last, which can be risky since it won't matter who you have left if you lose early on taking a gamble on a middling team. The other side of the coin is using the best teams early and sweating out the last few weeks hoping to catch lighting in a bottle.

Most try and find a happy medium.

At the end of the season the person(s) who have survived all 17 weeks claim the pot or prize.

If you're looking to get a Survivor League/Pool together for the 2021 season, The Duel has you covered.
