Phillies Reveal Timeline for Bryce Harper's Return From Elbow Surgery

Updated:

Bryce Harper played through an elbow injury that required surgery as he led the Philadelphia Phillies to a National League pennant in 2022, but he can't ignore it any longer.

Bryce Harper Injury Update

The Phillies announced on Wednesday that Harper finally and successfully had his UCL surgery and provided a rough timeline for recovery. With the UCL being an elbow injury, Harper's timeline gets bumped up a little more with his ability to DH, which he should be able to do by the All-Star break.

In terms of being fully back and playing the field as well, that's looking like it will be more toward the end of the 2023 regular season.

Either way, missing Harper will leave a massive hole in the Phillies lineup for the first half of next season as they aim to get back to the World Series.

The Phillies currently have +1400 odds to win the 2023 World Series, according to FanDuel Sportsbook's latest MLB odds.
