Patrick Mahomes has, once again, brought the Kansas City Chiefs back to the AFC Championship Game thanks to his terrific postseason play.

Mahomes has only been Kansas City's starting quarterback for four seasons and the Chiefs have made it to the Conference Championship Round in each of those campaigns. In other words, this season's success is nothing new.

Keeping that in mind, here's a look at how the former NFL MVP has played in his previous AFC Championship Game appearances.

Patrick Mahomes Record in Conference Championship Games

In his short career, Patrick Mahomes is 2-1 when it comes to his previous three AFC Championship appearances.

Patrick Mahomes Conference Championship Career Stats

Over his three AFC Conference Championship appearances, Patrick Mahomes has completed 68 of his 104 passing attempts (65.4%) for 914 yards and nine touchdowns without a single interception. He's also rushed the ball 15 times over those games for 69 yards and a TD on the ground.

Patrick Mahomes AFC Championship History

Mahomes lost his first AFC Championship appearance, 37-31, to the New England Patriots during the 2018-19 NFL Playoffs. He then led the Chiefs to a 35-24 win over the Tennessee Titans in 2019-20 before Kansas City went on to win Super Bowl 54.

Mahomes and the Chiefs returned to the AFC Championship Game last season, defeating the Buffalo Bills, 38-24, to advance to Super Bowl 55. Unfortunately, they ended up losing the Vince Lombardi Trophy to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers when all was said and done.
