Padres Get Major Fernando Tatis Jr. Injury Update

The San Diego Padres have weathered through a battery of injuries to currently sit tied for first place in the loaded NL West. This feat is even more impressive considering star shortstop Fernando Tatis Jr. has yet to suit up this season as he recovers from a fractured wrist.
The latest on Tatís is some much-needed good news on the injury front for San Diego.
Turns out, Fernando Tatis Jr. has been "mimicking" swings for a few days. He is to the point where there is discussion every day about his progress and what might come next.

Fernando Tatís Jr. Injury Update
Kevin Acee of the San Diego Union-Tribune reports Tatis has been "mimicking" swings over the last couple of days. Acee added Tatis looks good enough for there to be daily discussions about the next step in his rehab.
This is an incredibly encouraging sign on Tatis' recovery. It's great to hear the two-time Sliver Slugger is starting to take steps toward getting back on the field. Though taking mimic swings and playing in an MLB game are two very different things, it's a start.
It's no secret the Padres' could use a boost after NL MVP candidate Manny Machado's recent ankle sprain. Though Machado may avoid a length IL stay, the sooner Tatis gets back on the field, the better equipped this team will be to challenge for the division crown.
San Diego is currently +1300 (T-No. 6) in FanDuel Sportsbook's World Series odds.
