Olusegun Oluwatimi Scouting Report
Olusegun Oluwatimi was a quarterback's best friend in 2022. Suiting up on 918 offensive snaps for the Wolverines, the impressive center didn't allow a single sack while only giving up 5 quarterback hits and 4 hurries. He received the Outland and Rimington Trophies as the NCAA's best interior O-lineman and center, respectively.
Oluwatimi is a strong player with reliable hands who's able to send pass-rushers to the ground. He has impressive core strength, helping him handle any incoming double teams. He's also an expert at angling his body perfectly on run plays to open a lane for his team's running back.
As with most prospects, Oluwatimi struggles in some areas. His lateral movement could use a lot of work, as does the fact that he occasionally gets pulled forward by incoming defenders.
Olusegun Oluwatimi NFL Draft Prediction
Olusegun Oluwatimi's draft stock is a mess, to say the least. The four highlighted mock drafts that see him getting drafted have him being selected in different rounds while the fifth has him going undrafted. In other words, there's no telling where he'll end up or when he'll get there.
It'd be harmless for the Houston Texans to take a chance on Oluwatimi. According to ESPN, the Texans' center depth is just Scott Quessenberry and Michael Deiter. While Quessenberry was the starter in 2022, his 36.6 overall grade on Pro Football Focus shows that he can at least be challenged for his job.
Although his draft stock makes a selection hard to predict, I'd feel comfortable with the Texans drafting Oluwatimi early on Day 3.
Prediction: Houston Texans (Round 5, 161st overall)
