Oak Hill Course Location, Weather & History for 2023 PGA Championship

Updated:

PGA Tour players are preparing for the 2023 PGA Championship in Rochester, NY. The long, demanding and transformed 7,394-yard Par 70 Oak Hill East Course was originally designed by famed golf course architect Donald Ross in 1922. But the course will look and play far differently, according to Kerry Haige, who sets up the course for the PGA of America.

Oak Hill Location

The PGA Championship golfers -- including LIV Golf participants -- will tee it up starting on Thursday, May 18 at Oak Hill Country Club's East Course in Rochester, New York. Rochester sits near Lake Ontario in upstate New York and is over 300 miles from New York City.

Oak Hill Weather

The AccuWeather forecast for Rochester shows sunny skies and temperatures in the low 60s as play begins on Thursday. Temps are expected to warm into the mid-70s on Friday with partly cloudy skies and winds up to 15 mph.

On Saturday, however, rain showers are in the forecast with a 40% chance of precipitation, plus overcast skies and similar winds. Sunday's final round sets up with mostly cloudy skies in the morning and temps in the upper 60s. As the leaders tee off Sunday, there is a 30% chance of rain and winds could reach 20 mph.
