Fourteen NBA matchups are slated for Friday, Dec. 23, including a massive Eastern Conference showdown between the Brooklyn Nets (20-12) and Milwaukee Bucks (22-9).

The Nets are on a roll, showing no signs of slowing down. They picked up a huge 143-113 victory over the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday, led by 23 points from Kevin Durant. The Bucks weren't as fortunate in their latest outing, however, falling 114-106 to the Cleveland Cavaliers two nights ago.

Can Brooklyn extend its winning streak to eight games tonight? Or will Milwaukee find a way to beat the Nets for the second time this season?

Nets vs. Bucks Betting Trends

  • The Nets won 32 games against the spread last season, while failing to cover or pushing 50 times.
  • Against the spread, as underdogs of 2 points or more, the Bucks went 5-8 last season.
  • Last season, the combined scoring went over the point total 41 times in Nets games.
  • There were 42 Bucks games (out of 82) that hit the over last year.

Nets vs. Bucks Prediction & Pick

The Nets have been the NBA's best offensive team lately, leading the league in points (120.2 PPG), field-goal percentage (53.9%) and three-point percentage (40.8%) over the last 10 games. Although the Bucks can keep up with the best of them, they've lost three of their last four road games, being held to 106 or fewer points in all three losses.

I also don't see how Milwaukee will slow down Durant and Kyrie Irving. Durant is averaging 32.2 points while shooting 60.7% from the field in his last 12 games, while Irving is averaging 29.0 points per game in his last eight.

With Khris Middleton being sidelined for the Bucks, they mainly only have Giannis Antetokounmpo to rely on for scoring. Aside from Giannis (34.0 PPG), nobody else on the team is averaging more than 16 points over the last five games. With the 'Greek Freak' not playing at 100% due to a knee injury, I just don't like Milwaukee tonight.

Back Brooklyn winning (yet again) at home.

Final Score Prediction: Nets: 116 | Bucks: 108

Nets vs. Bucks Best Bet

Kevin Durant's projected point total for the night sits at 29.5 and I have full confidence in him to hammer the over. After all, Durant loves playing the Bucks. In his last 14 games (including playoffs) against Milwaukee, the former MVP is averaging 33.7 points on .493/.404/.846 shooting.

What's even more impressive is that Durant has gone over 28.5 points in all but two of those outings, including when he dropped 33 against the Bucks in October. With him also going over that total in eight of his last 12 games this season, don't be surprised if KD has another impressive showing tonight.

Bet: Kevin Durant — Points: Over 29.5 (-104)
