3 Most Likely Tom Brady Free-Agent Destinations in 2023

Updated:

Though Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are back in the playoffs, it's obvious this team is far from the squad that won the Super Bowl. The Buccaneers' struggles post-Bruce Arians pave the way for Brady to seek a new home in 2023, assuming he doesn't retire.

With that in mind, here are three likely free-agent destinations for Brady this offseason.

Tom Brady Free-Agent Destinations 2023

3. New York Jets

The New York Jets are just a stable quarterback away from making serious noise in the AFC. Even with the carousel of Zach Wilson, Joe Flacco and Mike White under center, Robert Saleh's team was still in the playoff hunt thanks to a talented skill-position group and one of the best defenses in the league. Brady leading an offense with the likes of future stars Garrett Wilson and Breece Hall would help take the pressure off of this rising defensive powerhouse, putting them in even better position to succeed after doing all the heavy lifting this past season. The seven-time Super Bowl champ's star power should attract impactful free agents to New York as well, allowing the Jets to load up for a deep postseason run in 2023.

2. San Francisco 49ers

Brady going back home to California to end his career is another legit possibility. The San Francisco 49ers' quarterback situation is considerably murky with Jimmy Garoppolo likely exiting, Trey Lance looking like he still needs some seasoning, and Mr. Irrelevant Brock Purdy surprising everyone with his play this season. Regardless of the potential of their young QBs, Brady gives Kyle Shanahan the best option to win a championship right now. The veteran signal-caller would suddenly inherit an insanely talented offense with star talents like Christian McCaffrey, Deebo Samuel and George Kittle all around him. These studs being able to make plays after the catch should be very attractive to Brady as his downfield abilities decline the older he gets. Brady's arrival, coupled with San Francisco's elite defense, would make this team an instant Super Bowl favorite.

1. Las Vegas Raiders

There's already buzz coming out of Las Vegas regarding a Brady-Raiders signing this offseason. The opportunity is certainly there as the team prepares to move on from former starter Derek Carr. This offense has potential waiting to be unlocked with Davante Adams and Darren Waller headling the pass-catching options, plus pending free agent Josh Jacobs coming off of a career year on the ground. Brady's connection with Raiders head coach Josh McDaniels is obvious as well. The two enjoyed a ton of success together in New England, as McDaniels was the Pats' offensive coordinator during two of Brady's three MVP seasons. The potential to link up with McDaniels again, plus the weapons he'd have, could sway Brady to Sin City.
