Bowl game season is an exciting time in college football. Schools across the nation will battle it out for postseason glory and a chance to end their year on a high note.

One team that's no stranger to playing in bowl games is the Mississippi State Bulldogs. Here's everything you need to know about Mississippi State's bowl history before making its next appearance.

Mississippi State Bowl Game History

College football fans shouldn't be surprised to learn that Mississippi State has built a storied bowl history. The Bulldogs have participated in 24 bowl all-time games prior to Monday's ReliaQuest Bowl.

MSU made its postseason debut in 1936. The Bullsdogs played Duquesne in the Orange Bowl, but fell 13-12. The school's first postseason win was in the 1940 Orange Bowl, defeating Georgetown 14-7.

Mississippi State's most recent bowl appearance was in the 2021 Liberty Bowl. Unfortunately the Bulldogs were blown out 34-7 by Texas Tech in that one.
