Michelob Ultra Super Bowl 2023 Commercial Pays Homage to 'Caddyshack' with Star-Studded Cast

Another Super Bowl is upon us, which means plenty of star-studded commercials are on the way. Michelob Ultra got in on the fun by paying homage to the 1980 film Caddyshack with an ad featuring a star-studded cast.

The ad opens at Caddyshack's fictional Bushwood Country Club with a sign that reads "New Member's Day." We're greeted with a shot of tennis legend Serena Williams and actor Brian Cox — known for his role as Logan Roy on Succession — going one-on-one on the green.

As Williams and Cox go shot-for-shot, we're shown a glimpse of NBA star Jimmy Butler and the WNBA's Nneka Ogwumike enjoying a beer while sharing a dance. Kenny Loggins' "I'm Alright" can be heard in the background as Cox tells them to "knock that off" so he can make his next shot.

U.S. Women's National Team striker Alex Morgan is seen telling Cox that he'll slice his shot into the woods. Although that didn't end up happening, the jinx paid off as Cox's ball landed in an unsuspecting bystander's drink.

Pro boxer Canelo Alvarez shows up in a Michelob Ultra-branded truck as we arrive at the 18th hole. Cox fails on his first stroke and while Williams' ball stops just inches from the hole, the sound of ex-Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo opening a beer scares some birds, creating enough noise to cause the ball to fall in the hole.

Though Caddyshack debuted over 40 years ago, it's a timeless film that still has a place in pop culture today. Michelob Ultra did a terrific job of recreating the Bushwood Country Club vibes and the star-studded cast only adds to the hilarious commercial.

Needless to say, it's going to be hard for any Super Bowl commercial to feature more celebrities than this one.
