Friday, Dec. 30's NCAA college basketball schedule includes an ACC matchup between the No. 14 Miami Hurricanes and Notre Dame Fighting Irish.

Momentum is at an all-time high as Miami rides into tonight's game on an eight-game winning streak, defeating ranked Virginia, 66-64, in its last outing. Meanwhile, Notre Dame ended a three-game losing skid on Tuesday with a 59-43 win over Jacksonville, highlighted by Marcus Hammond's game-high 15 points off the bench.

Can Miami continue its quest to rise up the rankings? Or will Notre Dame stop its rival's winning streak before it grows bigger?

College Basketball Picks Miami vs Notre Dame

I don't see Notre Dame pulling off an upset tonight due to how inconsistent the offense has been. The Fighting Irish have scored 64 or fewer points in three of their last four games and only shot 40.3% from the floor against Jacksonville. Now, they must face a Miami defense that held Virginia — the No. 6 program at the time — to just 64 points on .367/.261/.737 shooting splits.

Sure, Notre Dame has won four straight games against Miami, but the Fighting Irish have lost both games against ACC competition this season. On the flip side, the Hurricanes are 3-0 straight up against the conference. Furthermore, Notre Dame is just 2-4 straight up in its last six games, whereas Miami has won seven straight on the road.

With the Fighting Irish's offense being unreliable and the Hurricanes dominating on the road, I expect Miami to continue its winning ways in South Bend.

Final Score Prediction: Miami: 73 | Notre Dame: 69

Miami vs Notre Dame Pick

I don't see any reason why Miami can't cover the 2.5-point spread tonight. On top of owning a plus-5.3 scoring margin on the road (No. 33), the Hurricanes are 6-1 ATS in their last seven games against ACC competition and have also covered the spread in each of their last five Friday games.

Meanwhile, Notre Dame is an abysmal 1-5 ATS in its last six outings, also failing to cover the spread in four of its last five ACC matchups. Miami is bringing its A-game tonight and it will be more than good enough to beat Notre Dame by at least one three-pointer.

Bet: Miami -2.5 (-115)
