Miami vs Virginia Tech Prediction, Odds & Best Bet for Week 7

Updated:

The ACC Coastal division is still up for grabs early in this college football season. After all, only one team remains undefeated in conference play. The Miami Hurricanes and Virginia Tech Hokies have a chance to make up some ground on Saturday afternoon when they meet head-to-head on the field.

Miami vs Virginia Tech Odds

Miami enters this contest as a healthy -265 favorite on the moneyline (7.5-point spread), according to FanDuel Sportsbook's college football odds. This ACC showdown's total is set at 46.5 points.

Which way should college football fans be leaning in this game, and where can bettors find value?

Miami vs Virginia Tech Prediction and Best Bet

There's no denying that it has been a disappointing season for the Miami Hurricanes. They started the season out ranked in the AP top 25 and three of their four losses have come in games in which they were favored. Snapping a three-game losing streak in a hostile environment is going to be hard.

This is an opponent Miami has dominated as of late, though. The Hurricanes are 4-1 against the spread (ATS) in their last five games against the Hokies and have won three of their last four games played in Lane Stadium. Head coach Mario Cristobal's team has the talent to pull away on Saturday.

Quarterback Tyler Van Dyke leads an offense that is averaging a reliable 322.0 passing yards per game (No. 10 in FBS). He is familiar with this Hokies' defense, too, given he shined with 357 yards and 3 touchdowns in this matchup last year. This is the best chance he has at a bounce-back opportunity.

Virginia Tech ranks outside the top 100 FBS teams in terms of yards and points per game so far this season. All the pressure will be put on the defense as the offense will not be able to keep up with Miami. Give me the Hurricanes -7.5 on the spread in a game that barely hits over 46.5 points.
