The Dallas Mavericks and Utah Jazz meet head-to-head in Summer League action on Monday night. Dallas is coming off of a heartbreaking 100-99 overtime loss to the Chicago Bulls on Friday. Jaden Hardy and A.J. Lawson each scored 28 points and combined to shoot 19-for-35 from the floor.

Meanwhile, the Jazz grabbed a victory over the Atlanta Hawks in what was a low-scoring 72-66 contest. Utah held Atlanta to just 32.9% shooting in a stellar defensive effort. Second-year pro Jared Butler guided the offense with 15 points (6-for-11), 7 assists and 3 rebounds.

Mavericks vs Jazz Prediction & Pick

Outside of Hardy and Lawson, Dallas shot only 33.3% from the floor in their first game and racked up 29 personal fouls. Playing a two-man game is not going to get the job done moving forward. Players like Miye Oni and Alessandro Pajola will need to step up or it will be a long week for Dallas fans.

Slating this game a a near pick 'em seems a bit disrespectful to the Jazz. Utah stifled anything Atlanta wanted to do on offense in their first game and dominated on the glass. Rookies like Johnny Juzang and Kofi Cockburn should be able to make more of an impact after getting their first taste of action.

Back the Jazz to keep their momentum going with another win (-132).
