Tybura vs Ivanov Prediction

UFC Vegas 68 presents an opportunity for either Marcin Tybura or Blagoy Ivanov to keep the momentum going with a victory. Tybura bounced back from a loss to Alexander Volkov with a majority decision win over Alexandr Romanov at UFC 278 in August. His aggressive approach in the first round paid off.

Ivanov lost to Augusto Sakai via split decision all the way back in May of 2020 before he returned to the UFC with a unanimous decision victory over Marcos Rogerio de Lima at UFC 274 in May of 2022. The Bulgarian fighter has long been praised for his physical strength and decent grappling abilities.

These fighters are similar in the fact they each land around 3.5 strikes per minute and own takedown defense rates around 78%. Where they differ is in size, as Tybura features a 4-inch height advantage and a 5-inch reach advantage over Ivanov. That'll be the key to earning a slight edge in the octagon.

I'll side with Marcin Tybura to come out on top.

Tybura vs Ivanov Best Bet

Ivanov's last six bouts have all resulted in a decision, while five of Tybura's last seven fights have come down to the judges as well. Neither pro is known for knocking out his opponents, but both are known for not getting knocked out. Once again, these guys have similar strategies.

That's why backing Tybura to emerge victorious by points is a better bet than simply backing the 37-year-old as a -200 favorite. While Tybura has a lengthy track record worth trusting, Ivanov has yet to be knocked out in his entire professional career and knows that his strength lies in his ground game.

Bet: Tybura by Points (TBD)
