Magic vs. Nuggets Prediction, Odds & Best Bet for February 9 (Can Jokic & Denver Sweep the Season Series?)
Magic vs. Nuggets Game Info
- Date: Thursday, February 9, 2023
- Time: 7:00 PM ET
- Venue: Amway Center -- Orlando, Florida
- Coverage: BSFL and ALT
The Denver Nuggets (38-17) are scheduled to visit the Orlando Magic (22-33) in one of four NBA games slated for Thursday, Feb. 9.
The Nuggets are coming off a massive 146-112 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves that saw Nikola Jokic finish with his 19th triple-double of the campaign. Meanwhile, the Magic were on the wrong end of a 102-98 encounter with the New York Knicks, leaving time to tell if Orlando can bounce back tonight.
Can the Nuggets continue solidifying themselves as NBA Championship contenders? Or do the Magic have what it takes to pull off the upset at home?

Magic vs. Nuggets Betting Trends
- The Nuggets compiled a 36-44-2 ATS record last year.
- As 6.5-point underdogs or more, the Magic went 26-28 against the spread last season.
- A total of 47 Nuggets games last season went over the point total.
- There were 42 Magic games (out of 82) that hit the over last season.
Magic vs. Nuggets Prediction & Pick
The Nuggets might be on a three-game road losing streak, but that ends tonight. They've won five of their last six trips to Orlando, holding the Magic to 99 or fewer points in three of the last five encounters at Amway Center. On top of that, Denver already has a 119-116 win over Orlando this season.
The Magic's lack of perimeter defense will also hurt them tonight. While opponents only shoot 35.0% from three-point distance against them (No. 7), the Magic still allow 13.2 threes per game (No. 28). Now, they must attempt to stop the Nuggets, who average 12.3 threes (No. 14) on 39.7% shooting (No. 1).
On top of that, Denver scores the fourth-most fast-break points while Orlando allows the ninth-most. With it being clear that the Nuggets can beat the Magic in numerous ways on both ends of the court, I'm siding with the road team tonight.
Final Score Prediction: Nuggets: 118 | Magic: 112
Magic vs. Nuggets Best Bet
Nikola Jokic enters tonight with a projected point total of 25.5 points. Even though he's one of the best players on the planet, I have my doubts about his ability to hit the over against the Magic.
For starters, Orlando has been a frustrating team for the Serbian superstar to face. He's only averaging 16.9 points on .495/.319/.830 splits in 14 previous games against the Magic. When it comes to this prop, Jokic finished with fewer than 25.5 points in all but three of those contests.
Considering how he's also finished with the under in five of his last six games this season, I see Jokic having another quieter-than-expected night.
Bet: Nikola Jokic — Points: Under 25.5 (-110)
