Christmas and the NBA make a perfect pairing. The holiday has long been a featured part of the league's regular-season schedule, leading to some memorable moments.

One team that's no stranger to Christmas Day action is the Philadelphia 76ers. Here's everything you need to know about the 76ers' history on Christmas.

Lakers Christmas Game History

The NBA made its Christmas Day debut in 1947, and the holiday has been a constant part of the league's regular-season schedule ever since.

The Lakers made their first Dec. 25th appearance in 1949 while the franchise was still located in Minnesota. The Minneapolis Lakers won in their inaugural Christmas game, taking down the Fort Wayne Pistons 72-58.

Give the team's massive success throughout the years, it's no wonder the Lakers have been a fixture of the Christmas slate. They have made 48 appearances all-time on Dec. 25th, which is the second most in NBA history behind the New York Knicks (54).

LA most recently played on Christmas in 2022, traveling to face the Dallas Mavericks. The home team got the win in that one, dispatching the Lakers 124-115.

Lakers All-Time Christmas Record and Results

The Lakers, including their time in Minneapolis, are 24-25 all-time on Christmas Day. The franchise's 24 wins are the most in NBA history on Dec. 25th.
