There had already been a number of no-hitters since the start of the 2021 MLB season in April. And now Arizona Diamondbacks pitcher Tyler Gilbert has joined the list with his no-hittter against the San Diego Padres on August 14.

There have been seven no-hitters thrown during the 2021 MLB season.

How Many No-Hitters in 2021

Seven no-hitters have been thrown during the 2021 MLB campaign so far. They are:

- Joe Musgrove of the San Diego Padres (April 9 vs Texas Rangers)
- Carlos Rodon of the Chicago White Sox (April 15 vs Cleveland Indians)
- John Means of the Baltimore Orioles (May 5 vs Seattle Mariners)
- Wade Miley of the Cincinnati Reds (May 7 vs Cleveland Indians)
- Spencer Turnbull of the Detroit Tigers (May 18 vs Seattle Mariners)
- Corey Kluber of the New York Yankees (May 19 vs Texas Rangers)
- Zach Davies, Ryan Tepera, Andrew Chafin and Craig Kimbrel of the Chicago Cubs (June 24 vs Los Angeles Dodgers)
- Tyler Gilbert of the Arizona Diamondbacks (August 14, 2021 vs. San Diego Padres)

Madison Bumgarner No-Hitter

Arizona Diamondbacks pitcher Madison Bumgarner held the Atlanta Braves to zero hits on April 25 of this season. However, it was only a seven-inning game (due to it being the first of a double-header that day) and therefore the MLB didn't count it as an official no-hitter.

Tampa Bay Rays Combined No-Hitter

The Tampa Bay Rays combined to throw a seven-inning no-hitter against the Cleveland Indians on July 7. Collin McHugh, Josh Fleming, Diego Castillo, Matt Wisler and Pete Fairbanks combined to accomplish the feat. However, the MLB doesn't count this as an official no-hitter because it was only a seven-inning contest (first game of a double-header).

Most No-Hitters in a Season

The most no-hitters thrown during an MLB season was eight in 1884. The modern era record is seven (which has occurred three times: 1990, 1991 and 2012).

How Many No-Hitters in MLB History

There have been 313 no-hitters officially recognized by the MLB in the league's history. The first no-hitter in history was thrown in 1876.

Last Perfect Game

The last MLB perfect game was thrown by Felix Hernandez of the Seattle Mariners on Aug. 15, 2012.
