Major League Baseball (MLB) isn't quite on the same ferocious pace as last year, but the league saw its first individual no-hitter of the 2022 campaign on Tuesday night. Los Angeles Angels rookie Reid Detmers made history of his own, tossing a no-hitter in the 11th start of his professional career.

Detmer's performance wasn't technically the only no-hitter throw this year. On April 29, the New York Mets no-hit the Philadelphia Phillies using a combined five pitchers.

There has been one individual no-hitter thrown during the 2022 MLB season.

Altogether, three no-hitters have been thrown during the 2022 MLB campaign so far when counting the combined performance. They are:

Tylor Megill, Drew Smith, Joely Rodriguez, Seth Lugo and Edwin Diaz of the New York Mets (April 29 vs Philadelphia Phillies)
Reid Detmers of the Los Angeles Angels of the Chicago White Sox (May 10 vs Tampa Bay Rays)
- Cristian Javier, Héctor Neris and Ryan Pressly of the Houston Astros (June 25 vs New York Yankees)

Reid Detmers No-Hitter

Los Angeles Angels rookie pitcher Reid Detmers no-hit the Tampa Bay Rays on Tuesday, May 10. The young starter threw a career-high 108 pitches while walking one and striking out two batters. This was the 10th individual no-hitter in Angels franchise history.

New York Mets Combined No-Hitter

The New York Mets combined to throw a no-hitter against the Philadelphia Phillies on April 29. Tylor Megill started off the feat with 5.0 no-hit innings before Drew Smith, Joely Rodriguez, Seth Lugo and Edwin Diaz finished the feat.

Houston Astros Combined No-Hitter

The Houston Astros combined to throw a no-hitter against the New York Yankees on June 25. Cristian Javier went seven scoreless and no-hit innings before Héctor Neris and Ryan Pressly combined to finish the job.

Most No-Hitters in a Season

The most no-hitters thrown during an MLB season was eight in 1884. The modern era record is seven (which has occurred three times: 1990, 1991 and 2012).
