Week 4 NFL action is underway, but FanDuel Sportsbook has already released NFL odds and lines for Week 5, giving us an early preview of next week's slate.

Week 5's 1 p.m. slate sets up an exciting cross-conference matchup between the Detroit Lions and New England Patriots.

Lions vs Patriots Odds & Lines Week 5

All NFL betting lines, odds and prop bets are from FanDuel Sportsbook.
Moneyline: DET: (-108) | NE: (-108)
Spread: DET: +1 (-112) | NE: -1 (-108)
Total: N/A — Over: (N/A) | Under: (N/A)

The Patriots are poised for a hard-fought game at home in Week 5 against the Lions. Both teams have early -108 moneyline odds and New England is favored by 1 point on the spread in what's expected to be a close affair.

Lions vs Patriots Prediction Week 5

Early NFL predictions and picks are from ESPN's Football Power Index (FPI).
Lions: 49.1% to win
Patriots: 50.3% to win

This battle could come down to the wire according to the opening betting lines. ESPN's FPI seems to also think it will be close, but I'll give the edge to the Lions. Both of these teams were missing key players in Week 4 due to injuries, but Detroit's playmakers are expected to be back almost right away. That same cannot be said about New England quarterback Mac Jones, who is dealing with a high-ankle sprain suffered during Week 3. Look for Lions head coach Dan Campbell to have his team motivated to beat Bill Belichick. Bet Lions ML (-108).
