Lions Insider Reveals Amazing Jameson Williams Injury Update

Updated:

Every NFL team entered the 2022 Draft knowing the risk that came along with selecting wide receiver Jameson Williams. The Alabama product tore his ACL during the National Championship game in January, but a recent injury update targeting a possible season debut date should excite Lions fans.

Jameson Williams Injury Update

Longtime Detroit beat writer Tim Twentyman believes that Williams could end up on the field at some point during September. While that would be on the early end of the 21-year-old's recovery timeline, all reports have suggested that Williams is ahead of schedule in his rehab activities.

Keep in mind Williams is likely going to miss most of, if not all of, Lions training camp and preseason games. Being ready to go by Week 4 would only go to show just how aggressive the kid out of Missouri can be. He would provide quarterback Jared Goff with a much-needed dynamic weapon.

There's no denying Williams' playmaking abilities when at full health. The 2021 All-American racked up 1,572 yards and 15 touchdowns on 79 receptions in his lone season with the Crimson Tide (15 games). His 19.9 yards per catch mark also ranked first in the SEC and seventh in the country.

Keep an eye on Williams' ability to participate in any kind of drills or training exercises this summer. For now, the Lions remain a long shot to make any noise in the NFC North with odds set at +370 to reach the postseason, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
