When Druw Jones, the son of former MLB star Andruw Jones, was drafted No. 2 overall by the Arizona Diamondbacks last year, he was immediately seen as one of the foundational pieces to Arizona's rebuild.

Unfortunately, in his first workout with the team, Jones tore his posterior labrum in his (non-throwing) shoulder, which has sidelined him since. The good news is that it sounds like Jones will be healthy and ready for the start of the 2023 Minor League season.

While Jones is considered a top-50 prospect in baseball, he is still probably at least a couple of years away from making the Major League roster. He is seen as a potential five-tool player, but none of that matters unless he is able to actually prove it on the field and work his way through the Diamondbacks system efficiently.

Jones certainly has the DNA to be that, just like his dad was. Drafted directly out of high school, Jones is still just 19 years old and has plenty of maturing to do both mentally and physically.

If all goes to plan though, Jones will be a key member of the Diamondbacks for years to come once he reaches the majors.
