Lakers vs Warriors Game Info

2022-23 NBA Regular Season Game
Los Angeles Lakers (0-0, 0-0 Away) vs. Golden State Warriors (0-0, 0-0 Home)
Date: Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2022
Time: 10 p.m. ET
Venue: Chase Center — San Francisco, CA
Coverage: TNT

The 2022-23 NBA season opens up on Tuesday, featuring a huge matchup between the Los Angeles Lakers and Golden State Warriors. The Lakers hope to rebound after failing to make the playoffs last season, while the Warriors look to build off last season's NBA Championship victory.

Can the Lakers' eclectic group of players find a way to start the new campaign on the same page? Or will Stephen Curry's Warriors find a way to continue their momentum from last season's playoff run?

Lakers vs Warriors Odds & Spread

All NBA betting lines, odds and prop bets are from FanDuel Sportsbook.
Moneyline: LAL: (+215) | GSW: (-260)
Spread: LAL: +6.5 (-110) | GSW: -6.5 (-110)
Total: 227.5 —Over: (-110) | Under: (-110)

The Warriors enter this contest as clear home favorites on the moneyline and spread on FanDuel Sportsbook's odds. This 10 p.m. ET clash also features a total of 227.5, which is high compared to the other projected opening week totals so far.

Lakers vs Warriors Prediction & Pick

This matchup will have no shortage of big names, just like the most recent times that the Warriors and Lakers have clashed. While the two sides have traded wins over the Warriors, it was Golden State that won three of its four meetings against Los Angeles last season.

With the Warriors celebrating their championship victory on Tuesday, it's hard not to back Golden State. The Warriors have proven to be a well-oiled machine, capable of scoring the ball while displaying a defense that held opponents to 105.8 points per game last season — second-best in the Western Conference and fourth-best overall.

Like any LeBron James-led team, the Lakers have a ton of potential, but they still have a lot to prove. LeBron, Anthony Davis and Russell Westbrook weren't all on the same page last season and now that there are new faces in the fold (Thomas Bryant, Patrick Beverley, etc.), they need to show that they can all work together on the same page.

In a game where there should be a lot of offense, I'm expecting the Warriors to get the season-opening win.

Final Score Prediction: Warriors: 118 | Lakers: 111

Lakers vs Warriors Betting Trends

- The Lakers are 4-14 straight up in their last 18 road games against Golden State.
- Golden State is 5-1 against the spread (ATS) in its last six games against the Western Conference.
- The total has hit the over in nine of the Lakers' last 13 games.
- The total has hit the over in four of Golden State's last five games against the Lakers.

Lakers vs Warriors Best Bet

As mentioned in the above trends, the total has hit the over in four of the last five Lakers-Warriors meetings. Although a 227.5-point total seems like a lot, the two foes surpassed that mark in all four of last season's meetings.

With the Chase Center faithful buzzing, the atmosphere will be perfect for the Lakers and Warriors to try and outdo the other. Keeping that in mind, I'm taking the total hitting over 227.5 points as the best bet.

Bet: Over 227.5 Points (-110)
