Kyle Schwarber Has NSFW Reaction to Getting No-Hit

Updated:

Philadelphia Phillies slugger Kyle Schwarber usually wears his heart on his sleeve, which has made him an extremely compelling character to watch during this World Series.

Sure enough, Schwarber didn't hold back after the Phillies were no-hit by the Houston Astros in Game 4 on Wednesday, giving a brutally honest and salty response during his postgame interview.

Phillies Game 4 Reaction

Schwarber and his teammates have now been on both sides of history in back-to-back nights. During Game 3 on Tuesday, Philadelphia became the first team ever to slug 5 home runs in a postseason game. That high was immediately crushed on Wednesday, however, as the Phillies became just the second team ever to go hitless in a World Series game. They are the only team ever with a two-game stretch like that.

Game 4 was especially frustrating, as Philadelphia was playing at home in front of a raucous home crowd that was still buzzing off of Game 3. A win would have put the Phillies up 3-1 in the series with a chance to close things out in Game 5 on Thursday, but now the series is tied after they couldn't even manage a single hit.

Philadelphia will try to turn the page and get back on track offensively in Game 5 against Justin Verlander, who gave up five runs over five innings in Game 1. Verlander has struggled mightily in the World Series throughout his career (0-6, 6.07 ERA), so the Phillies are hopeful they can get to him again and rediscover their power stroke.

Schwarber and his mates are currently +134 underdogs to win Game 5 and +155 underdogs to win the series on FanDuel Sportsbook's MLB odds.
