Knicks vs. Heat Prediction, Odds & Best Bet for February 2 (Miami Pounces on New York's Rebounding Struggles)
Knicks vs. Heat Game Info
- Date: Thursday, February 2, 2023
- Time: 7:30 p.m. ET
- Venue: Madison Square Garden -- New York City, New York
- Coverage: MSG and BSSUN
The New York Knicks (27-25) aim to put their losing ways behind them when they host the Miami Heat (29-23) for a get-together at Madison Square Garden on Thursday.
The Knicks have now lost back-to-back outings, falling 129-123 in overtime to the Los Angeles Lakers earlier this week. Meanwhile, the Heat won for the eighth time in their last 11 outings with Tuesday's 100-97 effort against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Can New York halt its skid before it reaches three games? Or will Miami be too much to handle for the home team?

Knicks vs. Heat Prediction & Pick
Although the Knicks have one of the better-scoring defenses on paper (112.7 PPG, No. 12), that hasn't been the case lately. Opponents are averaging 121.8 PPG over New York's last 15 games, which is tied for fourth-worst over that time. Furthermore, the Knicks have allowed 122-plus points in four of their last six games.
The Heat might average an NBA-low 108.5 PPG, but names like Jimmy Butler, Bam Adebayo and Tyler Herro will exploit the Knicks' lackluster defense. Miami also has the defensive talent to shut down any comeback efforts from New York after allowing the second-fewest points per game (108.2) in the NBA this year.
The Heat have also won five of their last six games against the Knicks -- including their last three trips to Madison Square Garden. Keeping that in mind, Miami shouldn't have many issues winning tonight.
Final Score Prediction: Heat: 109 | Knicks: 105
Knicks vs. Heat Best Bet
The Heat's Bam Adebayo heads into tonight's contest with a projected rebounding total of 9.5. That's a number he's had no issue surpassing lately. The talented big man is averaging 10.5 rebounds in his last 14 outings, reaching double digits in nine of those contests.
Now he gets to face the Knicks, who'll be without No. 1 center Mitchell Robinson (thumb) and his 8.9 RPG. There's no doubt that Robinson's presence will be missed since New York only averages 43.3 rebounds without him this season compared to the 48.7 RPG clip when he's in the lineup.
With Adebayo finishing with at least 11 boards in each of his last three trips to MSG, I'm expecting another big rebounding performance from the 25-year-old.
Bet: Bam Adebayo — Rebounds: Over 9.5 (-118)
