The 2022-23 NBA season continues on Tuesday with seven more games, including a battle between the Cleveland Cavaliers and New York Knicks. The Cavaliers rank fifth in the Eastern Conference with a 29-19 record, while the Knicks check in seventh with a 25-23 record. This one could go either way.

Cleveland enters as a loser in three of its last five games, but did take down the Milwaukee Bucks by a score of 114-102 on Saturday. Meanwhile, New York has now dropped four straight games following a 125-116 loss to the Toronto Raptors on Sunday. Which playoff hopeful will win on Tuesday night?

Knicks vs. Cavaliers Betting Trends

  • The Cavaliers have put together a record of 22-21-4 against the spread this season.
  • The Knicks have an ATS record of 7-7-1 in their 15 games as an underdog of 3 points or more this year.
  • Cavaliers games have finished with a final combined score above the over/under 23 times out of 46 chances this season.
  • Knicks games this season have hit the over 24 times in 46 opportunities (52.2%).
  • In home games, Cleveland sports a better record against the spread (14-8-2) compared to its ATS record in road games (8-13-2).
  • This year, New York is 8-14-1 at home against the spread (.348 winning percentage). Away, it is 15-8-0 ATS (.652).

Knicks vs. Cavaliers Prediction & Pick

It's worth noting right off the bat that Donovan Mitchell has missed the Cavaliers' last three games with a groin injury, but he is listed as probable to play on Tuesday. His return would obviously give Cleveland a boost as the 26-year-old is averaging 28.4 points and shooting 48.4% from the floor this season.

The Knicks are one of only three teams in the Eastern Conference to sport a losing record at home this season. Their lack of success at Madison Square Garden can be largely attributed to the fact that they shoot just 46.5% (No. 24 in NBA) and force only 12.3 turnovers (No. 29 in NBA) at home.

Cleveland is 13-3 straight up in its last 16 away games against New York, so trust the Cavaliers here.

Final Score Prediction: Knicks: 105 | Cavaliers: 112

Knicks vs. Cavaliers Best Bet

As mentioned above, the Knicks struggle to find the open man when playing at home. It's not going to be any easier on Tuesday considering the Cavaliers allow an opponent shooting percentage of only 46.6% on the year (No. 7 in NBA). Cleveland has more than enough length to contest shots all night.

The Cavaliers are 4-2 against the spread (ATS) in their last six games, while the Knicks are 1-4 ATS in their last five games. Not only that, but New York is 2-7 ATS in its last nine home games, too. The likely return of Mitchell combined with the Knicks' lack of offensive firepower makes for an easy choice.

Bet: Cleveland Cavaliers -3.5 (-114)
