Key Dolphins Player Involved in Trade Rumors Ahead of Deadline

Updated:

The Miami Dolphins are looking to stop a three-game losing skid amidst a bevy of injury issues to their quarterback room. Still, that hasn't stopped the team from considering other roster tweaks ahead of the looming NFL trade deadline.

With the NFL's trade deadline fast approaching on Nov. 1, the Dolphins are reportedly listening to offers on a key offensive playmaker.

ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reported the team is interested in hearing offers on tight end Mike Gesicki, but unwilling to call this "officially shopping."

Gesicki has been in a tough spot in 2022. After a year in which he posted 73 receptions on 100+ targets, he's been heavily underused in Mike McDaniel's offense. Gesicki owns just 19 targets through the first 16 weeks and consistently plays in less than 50% of the offensive snaps.

The strange part was Miami's choice to franchise tag a tight end that didn't have big plans for this past offseason. Either way, Gesicki is still a talented pass-catching TE and could help a potential contender with holes on the roster.
