Everything seems to be going right this year for the Minnesota Vikings. The team leads the NFC North by a mile with their 9-2 record, and the offense continues to hum on the back of Justin Jefferson, who has established himself as the best wide receiver in football.

Coincidentally, this meteoric rise times perfectly with the addition of new head coach Kevin O'Connell. O'Connell took over the reigns from Mike Zimmer, a coach that ended his Vikings' tenure on a very sour note.

A new, embarrassing report has emerged regarding Zimmer's tenure and a certain way he treated the face of the franchise (Jefferson).

According to the report from ESPN, O'Connell had to give Jefferson directions to his office during training camp when the pair first met. The superstar wideout had never been to Zimmer's office in his first two NFL seasons.

Seriously? We're talking about a two-time Pro Bowler, a player that finished second in the Rookie of the Year voting, and one that was drafted in the first round. That's insulting.

It's yet another example of Zimmer's complete lack of leadership and explains why the team consistently underperformed during his tenure. Despite a variety of offensive weapons, Minnesota only made the playoffs in three of Zimmer's eight seasons. He's also been put on blast by a number of former players and coaches since his departure.

Luckily, the O'Connell era is here and it's doing wonders for Jefferson's career. He's on pace to post 1,900+ receiving yards and close to 10 TDs in another Pro Bowl worthy campaign. The Vikings also hold +1700 odds (7th) to win Super Bowl 57 on FanDuel Sportsbook.
