Keeneland 2023 Spring Meet Schedule and Graded Stakes

The short and sweet Keeneland Spring Meet hosts 19 stakes races over three weeks from Friday, April 7 through Friday, April 28. The Kentucky track draws full fields capped at 12 runners with great day-to-day racing Wednesday through Sunday (except Easter, April 9).

Opening weekend is the biggest with major stakes races. Two races Friday include the $600,000 Central Bank Ashland Stakes for 3-year-old fillies - a Championship Series prep/points race for the May 5 Kentucky Oaks. Saturday's $1 million Grade 1 Blue Grass Stakes is a Kentucky Derby Championship Series race for the May 6 Kentucky Derby at Churchill Downs. The Bluegrass headlines five graded stakes races on Sat., April 8.

In addition, Keeneland announced it will offer free digital race-day programs for download for its spring meet. The initiative is designed educate and engage fans while increasing access to data for horseplayers and fans.

Grade 3 for older horses - 7 furlongs

8. $600,000 Maker's Mark Mile (April 14)

Grade 1 for older horses - 1 mile on the turf

9. $600,000 Jenny Wiley (April 15)

Grade 1 for older fillies and mares - 1 1/16 miles on the turf
