The 2022-23 NCAA college basketball season is finally here. The action begins on Monday, Nov. 7 with an exciting slate of games, including a matchup between the Jacksonville Dolphins and No. 7 Duke Blue Devils.

Jacksonville hopes to build off last season's success, which saw the Dolphins go 21-9 before losing to Bellarmine in the Atlantic Sun Championship game. Meanwhile, expectations are high after Duke's Final Four March Madness appearance. Only time will tell if the Blue Devils can live up to the hype as Jon Scheyer takes over for the legendary Mike Krzyzewski behind the bench.

Jacksonville vs Duke Odds & Spread

All NCAA college basketball betting lines, odds and prop bets are from FanDuel Sportsbook.
Moneyline: JAX: (+890) | DUKE: (-1600)
Spread: JAX: +15.5 (-108) | DUKE: -15.5 (-112)
Total: 137.5 —Over: (-110) | Under: (-110)

Duke enters this contest as massive home favorites on the moneyline and spread per FanDuel Sportsbook's odds. This 7 p.m. ET clash also features an over/under of 137.5 points, which is average compared to Monday's projected totals.

Jacksonville vs Duke Prediction & Pick

Oddsmaker projected a one-sided affair at Cameron Indoor Stadium. Jacksonville just isn't on Duke's level, proven by the former losing each of its last 10 games against the ACC. Though the Blue Devils aren't always perfect, they're 7-1 straight up in their last eight outings against the Atlantic Sun Conference.

It's also tough to imagine Jacksonville keeping pace with a Duke team that averaged the sixth-most points (80.1 PPG) in the nation last season. Sure, the program may have lost Paolo Banchero to the 2022 NBA Draft, but five-star recruits Dereck Lively II and Dariq Whitehead will offset that loss.

Meanwhile, the Dolphins only operated on a 64.2 PPG clip in 2021-22 (No. 312), which dropped to 60.0 PPG on the road. Unfortunately for them, the Blue Devils have also won 15 of their last 18 home games.

Barring a miracle, Duke shouldn't break a sweat against Jacksonville.

Final Score Prediction: Duke: 83 | Jacksonville: 65

Jacksonville vs Duke Betting Trends

- Jacksonville is 0-5 against the spread (ATS) in its last five games played on Monday.
- Duke is 13-3 straight up in its last 16 games.
- The total has hit the under in four of Jacksonville's last six road games.
- The total has hit the over in nine of Duke's last 11 games.

Jacksonville vs Duke Best Bet

Again, Jacksonville doesn't exactly have the talent to keep up with an ACC school like Duke. The gap between the pair's offenses is too big to ignore. The Dolphins may have had a top-10 scoring defense last year, but that was accomplished against much lesser competition.

With Duke's offense primed to be one of the NCAAB's best yet again, I'm backing the Blue Devils to cover the 15.5-point spread.
