Jacksonville Jaguars Training Camp Dates, Schedule & Location 2022

Updated:

Teams across the NFL are preparing to ramp up for the 2022 regular season with the start of training camp. The Jacksonville Jaguars are one of the last squads to take the field as the preseason nears.

Here's everything Jaguars fans need to know about training camp this year.

When Does Jacksonville Jaguars Training Camp Start?

Each team has two separate start dates for training camp, as rookies are often required to report a few days before veterans. However, the Jaguars are not one of those teams. Instead, Jacksonville's rookies and veterans will both report on Sunday, July 24.

This gives almost two weeks to prepare for the team's first preseason game on Aug. 4.

Jaguars rookies and veterans will report for training camp on July 24. Jacksonville will then host practices to get ready for its first preseason game on Aug. 4.

The Jaguars will play four preseason games this year due to their involvement in the Pro Hall of Fame Game against the Las Vegas Raiders on Aug. 4. The Jaguars play again on Aug. 12 (vs. Cleveland Browns), Aug. 20 (vs. Pittsburgh Steelers) and Aug. 27 (@ Atlanta Falcons).

The Jaguars will suit up on Sunday, Sept. 11 versus the Washington Commanders in Week 1 of the 2022 campaign.

Jaguars Training Camp News

After being the Jaguars' standout player in 2020, running back James Robinson's 2022 campaign came to an end when he tore his Achilles in Week 16. Naturally, Jacksonville fans are wondering what this means for his training camp aspirations.

It was reported in June that Robinson "likely won't" be available at the beginning of training camp this weekend. The good news is he's "expected" to show up at some point during camp, while the Jaguars haven't ruled out the possibility of him facing the Commanders in Week 1 of the regular season.

For now, 2021 first-round pick Travis Etienne will assume the No. 1 RB duties in Jacksonville. Considering that Etienne suffered a season-ending foot injury before his rookie campaign even began, the pressure is on for him to steal the starting rushing job and run away with it.
