Jack Campbell Scouting Report

Jack Campbell was productive in his final campaign with the Hawkeyes, setting new career highs in solo tackles (59) and tackles for a loss (5.5). He led the Big Ten in total tackles (125) for the second consecutive campaign, adding two interceptions, a forced fumble and a broken-up pass along the way.

With a 6-foot-5, 249-pound frame, Campbell is huge for a linebacker. The 2022 Butkus Award winner is still quick on his feet despite his size and is always making plays, whether that's in the pass rush or rushing lanes. He's also been a team captain, showcasing that he has the type of leadership skills that NFL coaches will love.

There are areas for Campbell to improve, though. His movements can occasionally be stiff. He's not always as aggressive as he should be either. There's also the fact that his height sometimes comes back to bite him, leading to him taking too long to change directions at times.

Jack Campbell NFL Draft Prediction

It's hard not to imagine Jack Campbell being drafted somewhere in the first three rounds next week. He's been one of the top Big Ten linebackers over the last two seasons and with the right opportunity, he should find near-immediate NFL success.

The New England Patriots were one of the teams eyeing linebackers at last month's combine. Although their group is already solid, it wouldn't hurt to add someone with Campbell's upside. With his leadership skills, he won't have issues fitting into a Bill Belichick-led locker room.

The Patriots have one of the best coaching staff in the league and know how to develop players. I'd hardly be shocked if Campbell became an impact player in the near future if he lands in New England.

Prediction: New England Patriots (Round 2, 46th overall)
