Is Devin Booker Playing Tonight? (Latest Injury Updates and News for Suns vs Nets on Feb. 7)

Updated:

The Phoenix Suns are back in action on Tuesday night as they face the Brooklyn Nets at 7:30 p.m. ET on TNT. One player's status to keep an eye on ahead of tip-off is Devin Booker, who has been sidelined with an injury for five weeks.

Devin Booker Injury Update (2/7/2023)

All signs point to Devin Booker making his highly-anticipated return to the starting lineup tonight. The three-time All-Star is not listed on the team's injury report and Phoenix announced he is "expected to play." Booker has missed each of the Suns' last 21 games after suffering a groin strain in December.

Keep in mind the Suns sat in first place when Booker went down, but have since slid all the way down to the fifth spot in the Western Conference. Phoenix has posted a 10-11 record in his absence and has struggled to keep up with high-scoring squads. That should not be the case moving forward.

Booker is averaging a reliable 27.1 points, 5.6 assists and 4.6 rebounds across 29 games played this season. He is also shooting 47.7% from the floor and 37.0% from three-point range. It's yet to be announced whether the 26-year-old will be eased back into action with a minutes restriction or not.

Devin Booker Fantasy Outlook and Prop Bets Today

Devin Booker is listed with over/unders of 20.5 points, 4.5 assists and 3.5 rebounds on Tuesday, according to FanDuel Sportsbook's NBA odds. I lean toward backing Booker to drain over 1.5 three-pointers at -146 odds, though. He was averaging 6.2 three-point attempts per game before going down and Brooklyn allows an opponent three-point shooting percentage of 37.3% (No. 28 in NBA).

Booker is the among the top shooting guard options on the FanDuel DFS slate tonight, too, checking in with the fourth-most expensive price tag at the position ($8,900). Fantasy managers need to be careful here as Booker may not be ready to take on his usual workload on the offensive end just yet. Keep in mind Brooklyn also gives up the ninth-fewest FanDuel Fantasy points to opposing SGs.
