Il Miracolo Horse Trainer and Jockey

Il Miracolo is trained by Antonio Sano, who fled his homeland in Venezuela to restart his horse training business in America over a decade ago. Sano rose to fame when he helped Gunnevera to a great season in 2017 as the horse captured fifth place at the Preakness.

Il Miracolo's jockey is Marco Meneses, who has already captured 15 first-place finishes among different horses during this racing season. That includes aboard II Miracolo just one week ago.

Il Miracolo Race History

Il Miracolo has a career record of 10 starts and two wins with three second-place finishes all-time. He'll run in the Preakness just over one week after his most recent victory, which came at Gulfstream Park on May 11.

Il Miracolo Preakness Prediction and Pick

There's no denying that Il Miracolo has been putting in the work ahead of Saturday's race. The colt has been taking part in one race after another at Gulfstream Park and is coming off an impressive victory.

However, there's a reason he has some of the longest odds to win the Preakness. The Sano-trained horse's win came directly after five straight finishes of fifth or worse. Il Miracolo's fate may come down to what post position he draws considering it could either give him a leg up on the rest of the field or put him in an even worse position. He's a horse to simply avoid from a betting viewpoint.
