March Madness is right around the corner, which means college basketball's conference tournament season is here! One of the biggest ones getting underway in the first week of march is the Horizon League Conference Tournament.

The 2022 Horizon League Conference Tournament will tip off with its first game at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 1.

The tournament will take place at Indiana Farmers Coliseum in Indianapolis, IN.

The odds suggest that the top five teams in the Horizon League standings each have a reasonable shot at winning this tournament. After all, there wasn't a single team that finished with less than six losses in conference play. Cleveland State is the team to back here for multiple reasons, though.

The Vikings are simply the most well-rounded team in the Horizon League. They rank 36th in the country in terms of effective field goal percentage and turn the ball over at a minuscule rate. Cleveland State has also swept both Wright State and Purdue Fort Wayne over the last few months.

Oakland and Northern Kentucky may have snagged some wins over Cleveland State, but both teams have a glaring weakness. The Golden Grizzlies average just 72.7 points per game (No. 110 in NCAA), while the Norse rank 264th in the country in terms of turnovers per possession.

Cleveland State's senior guard D'Moi Hodge averages 15.4 points per game on the year and is shooting an efficient 74.1% from the free throw line. Look for the Vikings to lean on him and make their second consecutive March Madness appearance.
