Henry To'oto'o Scouting Report
To'oto'o committed to Tennessee as a top-50 national recruit out of high school and wasted no time making an impact on the defensive side. He tallied 72 total tackles (5.0 for loss) as a Freshman All-American before posting 68 total tackles (7.5 for loss) and 1.0 sacks in nine games in the 2020 season.
It was then that To'oto'o transferred to Alabama, where he broke out with 111 total tackles (7.5 for loss) and 4.0 sacks in 2021. The California native was named a first-team all-SEC player during his final college season, racking up 94 total tackles (8.0 for loss) and 2.5 sacks across 13 games played.
Highlighted strengths of To'oto'o's game focus on his production. To'oto'o is meticulous in his film study and has top-notch football IQ, meaning he is able to shine no matter what opponent is lined up on the other side. He has also been praised for his ability to contort his body and make tough tackles.
To'oto'o is far from a perfect prospect, though, as he lacks the ability to consistently shed blockers. He tends to float during pass rush attempts and loses one-on-one battles to running backs in protection. Nevertheless, To'oto'o has a knack for bringing guys down, which gives him upside at the NFL level.
Henry To'oto'o NFL Draft Prediction
To'oto'o will have to improve in rush defense to stick around in the NFL, as he lost a ton of reps when it came to facing tight ends/offensive linemen at the second level. The good thing is that all of To'oto'o's weaknesses can be improved through coaching, making his upside sky-high on the right defense.
There may be no better spot for To'oto'o to land than in Pittsburgh. The Steelers have a young but menacing defense built around the likes of T.J. Watt and Cameron Heyward. Those veterans, along with head coach Mike Tomlin, could help To'oto'o unlock his potential as early as his rookie season.
The Steelers also have a need at the inside linebacker spot as Devin Bush and Robert Spillane are no longer on the roster. To'oto'o is projected to hear his name called in the third round, so Pittsburgh would have to either reach with the No. 49 overall pick or hope To'oto'o is available at No. 80 overall.
Prediction: Pittsburgh Steelers (Round 3, 80th overall)
