Has Kansas State Ever Won a National Championship?

Updated:

The Kansas State Wildcats have played tremendously in their first March Madness appearance since 2019. Jerome Tang's squad is making its first Sweet 16 appearance in half a decade, leaving the Kansas State faithful craving even more success.

Although it's been some time since Kansas State made noise at the NCAA Tournament, the event is built on the unthinkable becoming undeniable.

With that in mind, would this be the first time that Kansas State fans celebrate a national championship victory?

Kansas State National Championship History

Kansas State has never won an NCAA men's basketball National Championship. The closest the Wildcats have come to national glory was when they finished as the runners-up to Kentucky back in 1951.

This year also marks the 18th time that Kansas State is playing in the Sweet 16 and the first since 2018. That year was also the last time that the Wildcats made it to the Elite 8, where they eventually lost (as the No. 9 seed ) to No. 11 Loyola Chicago.

Needless to say, Kansas State fans have every right to be hungry for a national championship. Only time will tell if the Wildcats have what it takes to make their first finals appearance in more than 60 years.
